Keyword Chef – Product Overview

Developed by Ben Adler, Keyword Chef is a great “go-to” tool for keyword research!

This tool’s brilliant USP, is finding good keywords to target, that have weak competition in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP).

It identifies, and gives these pages a score, depending on the number of weak pages ranking in the SERP. The higher the page score, the easier it will be to rank for that particular keyword (assuming you write good quality content).

Keyword Chef – Who Is It For?

Keyword Chef prides itself on being “Built for publishers, by publishers”.

Keyword Chef is a great tool for new bloggers, or anyone else who needs to do keyword research as part of their business. Anyone who wants to position their content, or products in front of their ideal audience.

A simple to use tool, that makes searching for long-tail keywords less of a chore! (for those who don’t enjoy the process)

If you need to increase the free traffic to your website, blog, or landing pages, you need to be targeting great, competitive keywords to rank higher. This is where Keyword Chef excels!

How does Keyword Chef work?

Keyword Chef works by only producing keywords that have known search intent (what people are actually looking for).

This is useful, because it is a real time saver! All the “junk” words will be automatically removed, and therefore, not become part of your search results. All unnecessary, or irrelevant words can be excluded from the search.

(Using the Preview Window, you can delete any words that you do not need in the search results, and save using unnecessary credits!)

What you end up with, is highly relevant keywords that are of great interest to both the person searching Google, and you! Keywords you’ll actually want to create content around.

Keyword Chef – Key Features

  • Automatic filtering for clear, real search intent
  • Real time SERP analysis in bulk
  • Smart * Wildcard Search
  • Zero monthly fees

Keyword Chef Review - Feature Overview

Keyword Chef – Tools & Training

For experienced SEOs, this tool will be totally intuitive. To anyone who is new to keyword research, thanks to a design that focuses on both functionality, and simplicity, it will be very easy to learn in minutes, even with minimal prior knowledge!

Search Engine Report Page – SERP

To show how useful this keyword research tool can be, here is an example of a real search report:

The search term being “best * for chefs” – (Where * is the Wildcard)

keyword chef report example

With this report, the results can then be filtered by keywords, volume or SERP score (higher number SERP score is better), as required, therefore homing in on your ideal keyword to target. It can even highlight keywords that have a missing snippet in the SERP. This means you can easily identify the right keywords to target, to win the snippet (AND, THEREBY, THE MAJORITY OF THE SEARCH TRAFFIC!).

Keyword Chef review - SERP report filtered by keyword

As you can see from this image, The SERP report has now been filtered by the keyword “JOBS”, and there is a SERP score showing the 3 weaker pages within the SERP.

“Best jobs for ex chefs” could, with the right content, be an easy long tail keyword to rank for.

An added bonus of Keyword Chef is that, using the Preview Window, you can delete any words that you do not need in the search results, prior to running the report, thereby saving your credits balance!

Reports are automatically saved, and can be recalled using the “My Reports” button at the top of the page.

This is awesome, because you don’t need to re-run a search, and therefore there is no need to pay again to do the same search.

Keyword Chef – Using Filters

By clicking on the “FILTER” tab, you will uncover the ability to filter the keywords listed in the report by:-

  • Average Volume
  • SERP Score
  • Missing Snippet
  • Missing Youtube

This enables you to home in on the more focused opportunities to rank, and even claim the Google Snippet!

Keyword Chef – People Also Ask

The “People Also Ask” feature, has also been added to the SERP results report, in addition to the “Similar” feature. These are to be found within the report, highlighted in boxes after the keyword, and expand when clicked. This, again, follows the drive to find the intent behind what people are searching for.

Keyword Chef – Word Count

Upon hovering over the SERP Score, along with revealing the actual results page, if you pause a minute, the word count for the posts will appear after each post on the page. These are also averaged, for the results, at the top of the page, along with the average volume for the posts.

This is another great way to assess the competition!

Keyword Chef – Support

Keyword Chef Founder/Developer Ben Adler, is very transparent in the way he operates, and is available to help with queries, insights, and support, regarding the tool. He can be reached via social media as well. This can all be accessed from the “Learning Center” link on the Keyword Chef homepage (see above image).

I’d never heard of Keyword Chef before, but the title peaked my curiosity when  I came across it on a search.

It seems to vary from another Keyword Tool I use, called Jaaxy, because it seems to have a USP that it looks for search terms with intent, or those that could be classed as Low Hanging Fruit,  that being so, its a clever tool.

From reading it, how would the writer know that the terms s/he is looking for come in to the poorly ranked terms, have they been preloaded?

One of the good things is that it has a free version so its worth having a punt with it on trial so to speak.

As you have written a review have you used this yourself?

How has using it helped your blog rankings?

Dave Hayes, Glad this peaked your interest: it has huge potential!

There is a SERP score which contains the number of “weak” posts in the search results, which, with quality content, should be easily beatable. This is invaluable, and saves going into each page and analysing individually.  (a great time-saver!)

I have just started using this tool, and am looking forward to seeing some great results in the future.

With nothing to loose, why not give it a try out?

All the best with your keyword research, and thanks for dropping by.

I have not had the opportunity to use the keyword by chefs tool. This appears to be a very useful keyword search tool. The feature to exclude irrelevant words is definitely helpful. I would be interesting to use. I was not quite clear on the free  versus trial version though. Is it only a trial or free?

Thanks for this impressive review of Keyword Chef. It certainly seems a simple-to-use platform for researching great keywords. I really liked the idea that you pay as you go, because so many of these tools charge fees on a monthly basis. I have used Jaaxy up until now, and I may actually test out Keyword Chef as a result of your review. Thanks again.

    Hi

Thank you for your very informative and concise review on Keyword Chef. As you mentioned in your review ” For people who are new to content writing, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can be quite daunting!”. Therefore an easy to use keyword tool that is effective is an integral part of SEO. Keyword Chef seems to be a tool that can assist newbies and contribute greatly to experienced content writers.

I especially like the pay-as-you-go option. I will definitely try this product.

This is an informative post about a Keyword Chef I’ve never heard about before. The non-monthly or yearly fee makes it very attractive coupled with the generous allowance for a free trial.

I will definitely bookmark your post for future reference.

It would be nice if you do a comparison between Keyword Chef and Jaaxy.

Kavinah, Thanks for the thought. I will definitely do that comparison. Great idea!

There are so many different keyword research tools that reviews like this one are important to read. Most keyword research tools get the job done ok but they also almost all have some unique way of doing things. One likes Jaaxy and other on prefers Keyword Chef or something else. Importance is that such a tool is a must if you are creating content in the online world.

    1. admin Avatar
      admin

Mikko, yes, you have to be in it, to win it! I also use Jaaxy as part of  my keyword” toolkit”. The thing I like above all though, about Keyword Chef, is that there are NO MONTHLY FEES! You can just use “as required”.

The instant SERP analysis helps a lot as well!

I have never heard of keyword chef. I looks like something that I could use to help me in my writing. I try to complete at least two 1000 word articles a week and sometimes it can be difficult to come up with the right keywords for my articles. Thanks for this review. I will definitely look into this further and may use the service.

    1. admin Avatar

Al. S., Great that this may help with your 2 x 1000 word articles per week.

Finding good (under-served) keywords with strong user search intent is critical to getting your work in front of your audience.

Keyword Chef is a great tool for this!

Finding good keywords is crucial for our posts to rank. There are some good one out there, but they charge a monthly fee. And for newbies, that’s not affordable because our website is just getting started. I love this model that Keyword chef applies in which we can buy credits as we need them.

And thank you for the 1000 keyword credits.

    1. admin Avatar

      Ann, you’re welcome!

I totally agree that pay-as-you-go, is a great business model for this new keyword research tool.

It disrupts the market, and enables “newbie” bloggers to get started easier.  Top marks to Ben Adler for developing this!

Keyword research is a very crucial element in writing articles that will rank high. And most people that begin now with online work don’t understand the importance of this. What I definitely like on this, is that it offers a free trial. Very important in order to determine if it is good enough for your needs. Great review, thanks!

Stratos K, I totally agree! Keyword research is of great importance, and having a free trial where No card details are required, creates confidence, trust, and transparency.

So useful for newbie bloggers on a budget. No monthly commitment is extremely good, also!

Thanks for stopping by, and leaving a comment. 👍 😎

Thank you for sharing such aN informative review of Keyword Chef. I’ve used lots of different keyword tools over the past few years since I started blogging. However, while Jaaxy is my favourite I certainly like some of the features Keyword Chef has to offer. These include highlighting keywords with a missing snippet in SERP. I’ve saved this page for future reference.

    1. admin Avatar

Kathy, Thanks for saving this review for future reference. I’m sure it will come in very useful.

I agree that having a SERP highlighted that doesn’t have a snippet, gives you a great opportunity to claim that spot! And No Monthly Fees. What a bonus!

Wishing you much success with your content strategy.

      Cheers! ?

Hi! Thank you so much for this really useful description of Keyword Chef. This is a service I had never heard of or used before. I have always used Jaaxy so far, so I am wondering how you feel Keyword Chef compares to Jaaxy? Do you think it provides more accurate data, and why would that be? I appreciate your insights in advance!

    1. admin Avatar
      admin

Hi Erica, I also use Jaaxy as part of my research. The unique thing with Keyword Chef is that you can instantly see the Search Engine Results Page, and the number of weaker sites featured in the results.

This makes it really easy to evaluate whether to target that keyword, or choose another. This is a real world scenario, showing the exact resultant pages from your search.

Keyword Chef also acknowledges that Volume is not an exact science, and gives a high, low, and average amount. Other tools just give one of these figures.
